CoolTouch™ Laser

  • Dramatically improves wrinkles
  • Promotes younger looking skin
  • Convenient for people on the go
  • Have a treatment today, go to a party tonight

CoolTouch™ is a revolutionary patented technique that uses a cool cryogen spray to protect the surface layers of the skin, while its unique laser energy penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate and promote new, healthy, collagen growth. CoolTouch™ can be performed on any facial area. It is most beneficial on areas where wrinkles have begun to appear because collagen has become less elastic over time, such as eyes, mouth and cheeks.

A mild topical anesthetic cream is applied to the skin prior to the treatment so that patients express little or no discomfort while CoolTouch™ is being performed. The treatments typically last 15-30 minutes. There is minimal redness and no down time. The treatment is so mild, that many patients have it done on their lunch hour, reapply their makeup and immediately resume their daily activities.

Because CoolTouch™ is a stimulation that fosters new collagen and elastin fibers to grow, multiple treatments are recommended. Dr. James Liu will evaluate the area to be treated and discuss a more individual course of treatment with you.

The CoolTouch™ treatment is often used as a complement to other procedures. It is usually combined with MegaPeel to improve skin tone. Botox treatments can also offer additional wrinkle reduction.

MegaPeel

  • Improves wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage
  • Minimal down time
  • More beautiful skin without pain or long term irritation.

MegaPeel is right for anyone interested in improving skin appearance and reversing the aging process. A series of MegaPeels will improve: scarring, fine lines, moderate wrinkles, pigmentation problems and uneven tones, dull, lifeless and sun damaged skin.

MegaPeel consists of three steps combined to maximize results.

First - Microdermabrasion
Second - Glycolic peel
Third - Oxymist treatment

Microdermabrasion utilizes crystals to remove dead skin and finely resurface superficial layers of the skin to provide a more healthy, youthful appearance. When more aggressive treatment is necessary, vacuum pressure can be increased to evenly penetrate deeper layers of the skin. Initially you may feel a mild scratching sensation as the crystals make contact with the skin. Minimal redness will last for ½ hour to one day depending on the program.

Microdermabrasion is followed by a glycolic peel using the most gentle percentage for the first treatment and increasing slightly with the next treatments. The face is cleaned with fresh water to remove any remaining crystals and the peel is applied. This is left on for only a short time, 30 seconds to 1 minute and then wiped off.

The final step is the Oxy-mist treatment. A special mixture of vitamins and amino acids is applied to the face through an oxygen sprayer. This final step has a very cooling effect and replenishes the skin's moisture while adding helpful nutrients.

Botox injection is a revolutionary technique used to reduce wrinkles in the upper face, such as crows feet, forehead and between the eyebrows and nose. The effect is almost immediate and can be done in a very short amount of time. Botox is purified toxin which in small doses is safe. Botox weakens and inactivates the muscle it is injected into. Because it is only attracted to muscle, there is no effect on the rest of the body.

Drooping upper eyelids or bags under the eyes can make you look older than you feel. Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty can correct this. The procedure can be used to lift eyelids, remove excess skin from upper lids or remove fatty pouches under the eyes.

During a consultation with Dr. Liu, you will find out if blepharoplasty is a procedure that would help you achieve the more youthful look you are wanting.

Blepharoplasty can be performed in our AAAHC accredited outpatient surgery center under local anesthesia. For upper lids, a fine incision is placed in the crease above the eye and a small amount of excess skin and muscle is removed. On the lower lid an incision can be made just inside the lid to remove fatty deposits or placed in the natural smile crease to remove excess skin and muscle. Depending on the extent of the surgery, the procedure can take 30 minutes to one hour per eye.

After surgery, patients should elevate their head and periodically apply cold compresses. You will also be instructed to use an antibiotic ointment. The area will be bruised, swollen and sore for one to two weeks. Contacts should not be worn during this time. Make-up can be worn about ten days post surgery. The fine scars will fade in about two months

If eyelid problems interfere with vision it may be covered by your medical insurance. However, if the surgery is done for cosmetic purposes only, most insurance carriers will not cover it. It is the patients responsibility to check on the degree of coverage their insurance offers. Our billing department will assist you in any way possible.
