An overview of the VISX™ Laser
The Omaha Eye & Laser Institute and Lincoln Eye & Laser Institute is proud to be the first laser vision center in Nebraska to offer both VISX laser technologies along with the IntraLase laser for blade free LASIK. VISX is the most established excimer laser technologie approved by the FDA for LASIK. It is an excellent laser with an excellent track record of safety and precision. VISX has been approved for correcting the widest range of refractive errors when compared with other lasers on the market.

Visx Star S4 Laser

The VISX™ Star S4 laser uses a broader beam of laser light during the early portion of its treatment and then refines the beam down to a smaller spot size during the customization and final stages of treatment. This technique reduces the total amount of time needed to perform the laser treatment with most treatments lasting less than one minute per eye. It employs ActiveTrak™ technology to monitor the patient's eye during the procedure to allow the laser to track with any small movements of the patient's eyes. The wave front guided procedure with the VISX laser is called CustomVue™.
